Katherine Abby Hannah Park

While we were in North East Florida to shoot a wedding, we stopped by Katherine Abby Hannah Park in St Johns County. It’s a huge park that has a lot of outdoor activities and is quite busy. However, being so large, it doesn’t seem like there are that many people there and is very peaceful. Obviously, we were there for the birds…

There were several male Cardinals flying through the trees. This was the only one that stayed still long enough and in good light to get a nice photo.

Tree Swallow flying very fast overhead

With its mouth open this Tree Swallow is about to eat the insect just in front of it.

The Red Shouldered Hawk was not a welcomed visitor to the Red Winged Blackbirds territory.

Katherine Abby Hannah Park is a little too far from us to visit often, but if you’re in the Jacksonville/St Johns County area its a nice park to do some birding or just relax outdoors and enjoy nature.
