Hummingbirds in my Backyard

We finally had a few Hummingbirds show up in our yard. These little guys are so small and fast they’re a challenge to shoot. It makes it more rewarding when you get a good one.

Female Ruby-throated Hummingbird resting in our backyard oak tree. She’s not much larger than the leaves on the Live Oak. Do you see the drops of water from the flowers she was just drinking from on her beak?

Male Ruby-throated Hummingbird resting. The males have beautiful iridescent red neck feathers that glow when the sunlight hits them.

They continued to come even after it got too dark to photograph them. Hopefully they’ll be back for more tomorrow…
