Joe Overstreet Road

We had not been to Joe Overstreet Road in about a month so it was time to see what was going on over there. There were quite a few Bald Eagles as well as Hawks and smaller birds. Let’s see what was there…

There was a flock of 20-30 Wild Turkeys on Canoe Creek Rd driving down to J.O.

One of the Wild Turkeys in the big group. The light wasn’t the best and they leave quickly if they think you’re looking at them.

Palm Warbler sitting in good light on a barbed wire fence.

Red Shouldered Hawk looking for bugs from a fence post.

Palm Warbler in a tree. They sure don’t sit still for very long!

Wild Turkeys in better light this time on alert as they’ve spotted us in the car.

Bald Eagle with almost its full adult colors. It still has white spots on its body and some brown on its head and tail.

Now that’s a look of curiosity from this Bald Eagle sitting on a power pole.

Lift-off!

When an Eagle takes off, it’s wings reach far forward to powerfully drive it forward and take flight.

Final approach to the branch on the top of the tree.

Sandhill Cranes about to land in the cow field near the lake.

Bald Eagle airing out as it rests on a fence post across the corral about 200 feet away.

We made it out to the lake around 10am after watching all of the wildlife on the road there. Most of the action was done by that point, but we saw a lot more than there was the last few times we were here. As we get more into fall and winter it’ll keep getting better!
