Fenny Wildlife Trail

While looking for some different places to view wildlife, Lynn came across a place in The Villages called Fenny Wildlife Trail. It was a nice short boardwalk that did have some small birds and some of the usuals found around us. Because we were there right before sunset, we were able to watch Sandhill Cranes fly in for the night. There were 5 when we got there and by the time we left there were 34!

It looks as though the Sandhill Crane that already landed is about to get kicked in the back. Luckily, its just an illusion and it landed next to the other one.

When the Sandhill Cranes land close to each other, they almost look like two birds combined as one

It was really cool to watch all of these Sandhill Cranes coming in to rest for the night. They were surprisingly quiet (for Sandhill Cranes) as if they had an agreement with the very strict HOA of The Villages. We’ll be quiet if you let us stay here. It seems to work out well for everyone!
